Iconic and versatile example of mid-century British furniture by Ladderax. This modular furniture system consists of 5 shelves and 2 cabinets. One cabinet has a lockable drop-down door with support stays; creating a handy desk space or a place to prepare drinks. The interior features a fabulous Birdseye maple veneer lining and 2 small corner shelves. The other cabinet has teak sliding doors with a slim profile, full-height handles, and a height-adjustable glass shelf. The teak units and shelves sit on brass support rails and are supported by the rarer, gold-finished, metal ladders.
The Ladderax system combines upright ‘ladders’ that support shelves and cabinets, which sit on steel rods that hook onto the rungs of the ladders. One of the great benefits of Ladderax over its Scandinavian counterparts is that it doesn’t need to be attached to the wall. The whole setup breaks down easily when it needs to be moved and is so simple to rebuild. You can also be clever and source extra cabinets, rods, shelves, and/or ladders to allow you to add to and alter your configuration.
The condition of the teak is very good with some light wear consistent with age.
