Description

A compact and stylishly simple mid-century desk dating from the early 1960’s. This is a good-looking, solid wood, piece with neat proportions, clean lines and a rather nifty stowaway/travel function; the gently tapered legs can be dismantled from the top and securely stored in a special compartment under the desk top. There is no apparent HMF stamp, but its style and functionality suggest that it has been designed for the military or a similar service organisation. Aesthetically, the black leatherette top looks slick and contemporary paired with the light oak.

Why Buy Me? Neat proportions and style make me ideal for a smaller home office. My solid wood body and black leatherette desk top lend me a rather distinguished and retro aesthetic that easily sets me apart from a new, contemporary alternative.

This is in good condition both structurally and aesthetically. The metal leg supports and wingnuts (under the table) show some patina, as can be seen in the images showing the underside and leg stowaway. The right-hand side profile has lost an area of decorative trim (as if it has been sanded away). The drawer lock has been removed which can be seen when the drawer is open. As with any vintage, pre-loved piece, some bumps and bruises commensurate with age can be expected. Please study the images for a detailed view of the condition and feel free to message me with any questions related to this item.
