Description

A striking mid century (circa 1960’s) dressing table with a long, slim teak framed mirror that runs and accentuates the full length of the dressing table. Each of the six drawers has a stylish fin shaped handle and the two top drawers feature decorative horizontal slat work. This is a particularly well made piece by British furniture makers White & Newton. White and Newton’s designs during the mid-20th century were on the cutting edge of furniture design, due to the employment of talented design directors. British designer Arthur Edwards created many memorable modern designs before the role was taken over by Philip Hussey. Both designers focused on work defined by clean lines and considered geometric forms.
Why Buy Me? Strong, low, linear aesthetics, typical of the 1960’s modern look, will look fabulous in both a contemporary or vintage style of interior and brig some retro glamour to any space.

In good general condition. The mirror shows some signs of foxing at the edges, this appears as a slight mist (mostly in patches along the top edge). The surface of the dressing table has one or two areas of sun fade however as we have refinished the table top these are less distinct and look more like natural variations in the wood tone. Please study the images for a good representation of the condition and feel free to message me for more information or images.
