A fabulous, warm-toned, solid Teak dining table produced in the 1960’s by Danish furniture brand Glostrup. This is a particularly desirable piece that successfully combines functionality with aesthetics and quality craftsmanship. It is unusual for the period to find a table of solid teak rather than teak veneer and whilst this, by nature, is a heavy item the table top and leaves can be dismantled from the base pedestal for ease of transportation.
In its unextended form, it has very neat proportions owing to the slightly narrower depth compared to most tables of this period, but will still comfortably seat 6. Stored under the table top are two extra leaves enabling the table to be extended to a substantial 222cm or a good sized 180cm. The central double pedestal is not just aesthetically pleasing it also allows a larger number of seats as nobody ends up with a table leg in front of them.
Why Buy Me? I am, quite simply, perfect for every dining occasion, whether it’s an everyday family meal or a large celebratory get-together. My slender form makes me particularly suited to a less palatial space but certainly doesn’t adversely affect my functionality or impact.
In great condition for its age having benefitted from just one careful owner, the leaves and table top have a good even colour and tone with little or no sun fading so it looks just as good extended as not. As with any pre-loved piece please expect the odd scratch or bump commensurate with age and study the images for more details.
